Does your life look pretty good on the outside? And yet, you just aren't as happy as you want to be? This is not uncommon. Stress, depression, and relationship issues can hit even the most secure people at times.
Everyone encounters stress from time to time. When it interferes with your quality of life, you need new coping mechanisms that can help you live a balanced and healthy life.
The loss of a loved one, a job, pregnancy, empty nesters and/or relationship can sometimes be overwhelming. Grief is a natural response to loss of any kind and not simply felt or experienced due to a death. Many times the more significant the loss, grief is experienced more intense.
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that people sometimes develop in the response to a traumatic event.
Relationships can oftentimes be difficult. Even the most well-intentioned and high functioning couples can come upon rough times. Chances are, if you sense that something is wrong with your relationship or marriage, there likely is a problem.
Address behavioral, mental health, or routine stressors with a family system. This involves participation from all family members to address any family conflicts and create targeted cultural sensitive interventions to assist families to attain resolves and enjoy improved familial relationships.
A number of benefits are available from participating in therapy. Therapists can provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief, stress management, body image issues and more. Many people also find that a counselor can be a tremendous asset to manageing personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family issues, marriage issues and the hassles of everyday life.
Everyone gets through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, therapy is for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be admired.
It has been well established that the long-term solution to mental and emotional issues and the pain they cause cannot be solved solely by medication. Instead of just treating the symptom, therapy addresses the cause of our distress and the behavior patterns that curb our progress. You can best achieve sustainable growth and a greater sense of well-being with an integrative approach to wellness.
